FAQs

How long does treatment last?

The treatment length will depend on several factors: 1) how long you have been experiencing your current symptoms, 2) how strongly you are feeling your current symptoms, and 3) if it is possible to practice skills between sessions. Therapy often involves unpacking and changing longstanding habits and patterns, which can take time. Often the length of treatment can be between 8-24 sessions.

How long are sessions and how often should I schedule?

Treatment typically begins with an hour long intake session in which my goal is to learn more about your history and current symptoms so that I can develop a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. Following this, sessions are typically 45 minutes. It depends on your preference whether sessions are weekly or bi-weekly, but I typically recommend that treatment begins with weekly sessions then we can discuss shifting to bi-weekly sessions once you feel comfortable using coping skills effectively.

What is the session cost and do you accept insurance?

The initial intake session costs $200 and each 45-minute session following this costs $175. I do not accept insurance. I provide monthly superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement.

Are sessions typically scheduled in-person or over telehealth?

I offer in-person sessions in Smithtown, NY but primarily schedule sessions via telehealth for extra flexibility. I am able to offer sessions in the evenings for greater after school/after work availability.

Do you offer a sliding scale for sessions?

Yes, if you are interested in pursuing therapy with me, but cost is a barrier to treatment, please contact me and I’d be happy to discuss your needs and offer a reduced rate. I unfortunately am not able to offer pro-bono sessions at this time.
